WHAT:

Bikes, Boards + Books is a children’s program + shop - providing families the goods, and kids the opportunity to explore and grow in the domains of social-emotional, physical, and cognitive learning. The experiences offered are integrated, multi-sensory, and hands-on.

After 6 successful years of operating the much-loved summer program: Blocks, Trucks + Art, in Bridgehampton, NY, the founders Angela De Vincenzo and Jeff Mayer bring the magic they created inside and around their family-owned 18-wheeler, to a brick-and-mortar space in their local community of Brooklyn Heights/Cobble Hill.

The Workshops:

At Bikes, Boards + Books, we offer programming for children ages 3 - 12: mornings, after school and weekends.

Small Group Reading + Writing workshops engage, remediate and enrich developing learners; Biking + Skateboarding challenges and secures gross motor development, supports self-regulation, builds confidence and celebrates risk-taking; Block building allows young learners the opportunity to truly understand and access the world around them.

WHY:

The programs at Bikes, Boards + Books offer not only an enriching experience that families love, the take-away is profound. The development of such skills: creative thinking, problem solving, gross motor, academic learning, and self-regulation — are not only referenced and used back in the classroom, but kids will lean on these skills to enhance their everyday lives.
